Should the Japanese government give more money as aid to foreign countries?
A growing concern nowadays is that Japanese government should give more money as aid to foreign countries. In my opinion, the Japanese government should give more technology or deliver skilled staffs to foreign countries rather than giving money to them. I’d like to explain my opinion with three reasons in this essay.
First of all, giving money is nothing but a temporally aid and not lead to the future economic prosperity of the countries. For example, most of the money as aid are exploited on the way by high-ranking officials until it reaches citizens.
Secondly, Japan is proud of having cutting-edge technology in every field of the industry. Rather than giving money, Japan should teach them these technologies to develop their economies. For instance, Japan sets up factories at South-east Asian countries to teach know-how of producing modern products.
Finally, Japan should dispatch skilled workers to those countries. In fact, Japan has entered in matured aging society, there are many retired people who have high skills in every field of the industry, while those countries’ labor demography is rather young. By teaching their skills to the local workers of the countries, their economies may trigger to the development.
I’d like to emphasize again, long perspective aid, transferring technology and sending skilled workers are three reasons why I disagree that Japanese government should give more money as aid to foreign countries.
